Last MM :/

This is a pic of me and my little brother. “Boxing” is promoted to boys much more than to girls and is considered a violent sport. This special needs 8 year old has a huge collection of toy guns, bats, and boxing gloves. Violence is without a doubt more promoted for boys.

Dexter is one of the TV shows that really captures the essence of male violence. We have this guy named Dexter, who is a blood analyst in Miami PD. At night he hunts down criminals and kills them brutally, featuring blood. Each season has one main serial killer who is equally, if not more violent [...]

The sport highlights the physical abilities of the male fighters capturing all essences of the battle. There are around 27 million people enslaved all around the world. Of this number most of the victims are known to be women and children. When we think of/see/talk about victims of human trafficking we do not see men. Women are the ones being sold and exploited while men are the ones who are doing [...]

Lord Of The Rings is, shall I say, the most epic adventure told through film – ever.  Frankly, most movies that include swords or some sort of magic are simply fragments of the gigantic shadow cast by the film adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s masterpiece.  Now, you can see that the fellowship (shown above) consists [...]

Last MM!

There’s nothing that screams “MAN” to me more than the Godfather movies. These dudes are about as intense as they come, always shooting people and ganging up on them and killing horses and putting them in beds. There’s rarely a male dorm that doesn’t have a poster, men make references all the time and many [...]

Football is a very aggressive and violent sport. Majority of football players and those who take an interest in the sport are men. This cultural aspect only proves that men are violent and very structured in their thinking, whereas women are more fragile and will not be able to handle a sport like this. http://www.wallpaperbase.com/wallpapers/sports/americanfootball/american_football_3.jpg

Video games! Most of the time if a video game is violent, the main characters are men. This video is a live action trailer for MW3 and it shows the soldiers being very violent with guns, etc. Games like this are part of the debate over whether or not violent video games have any connection [...]

I found these vintage ads that blatantly promote violence against women for even the most insignificant of reasons. The first picture shows a woman being punished for bringing her husband stale coffee and the second picture shows a man contemplating murder because he believes that the woman doesn’t understand [...]

Fight Club, both a book and a movie. The message it sends out is obvious. You’re not a man as a consumer yuppie, and it’s not until you can beat someone to a bloody pulp that you can really be a man. It’s not just cool to fight, it’s necessary as who we are and [...]
