Done… Well almost!

May 5th, 2011 by kris4thenguyen

I seriously can’t believe that it’s already in the middle of finals week. It feels weird, like as if I’m not ready to leave quite yet! But at the same time, I’m ready for summer to start ASAP! >.<

So I wanted to wish everybody who is presenting good luck on your presentations! You all will do fine :D

Almost done~

April 26th, 2011 by kris4thenguyen

So Alix and I were working together to finish our annotations, and we were ALMOST finished. I think that all we had left were 5 genes left to annotate.

I think that the most frustrating part of this project was trying to find some conserved domains in the genes and then not getting any results. >.< (At least we found some conserved domains later on).

I feel bad for not blogging recently due to multiple tests and lab reports. >.> At least it is near the end of the week, and we’re getting ready for finals… Which means that we’re closer to summer! xD

Presentations

April 5th, 2011 by kris4thenguyen

So we’re (Bayless, Esther, and me) today and I’m actually kinda nervous since I didn’t really have enough time to re-read the poster and actually make an outline of what I want to say. Hopefully, I’m ready.

But I’m pretty sure that everybody will do amazing today on their presentations. :D

Posters

March 24th, 2011 by kris4thenguyen

So today in lab, we are making our posters that is due next Thursday (so a week from today). I’m actually kinda nervous because I have never made this type of poster before and thankfully we’ll be working in groups.

On the other hand, Phamerator has been super slow this past week but thankfully, Alix and I already have a system going which makes things easier. :)

I’m just ready for this week to end although I’m jealous of my brother who is at DisneyWorld at the moment with his high school’s band for a parade. >.<

Updates, updates and more updates

March 15th, 2011 by kris4thenguyen

So the updates are taking a while to download. Hopefully all the updates will be finished by the end of this class. I really want to see what we’ll be doing in the virtual box.

And I’m glad that Pittsburgh was impressed with our calls~

Dead Week

February 22nd, 2011 by kris4thenguyen

So the next two weeks are going to be dead weeks for me. I’ll be studying/ working on this Friday’s presentation/ Physics homework so I don’t know when I’ll be free actually. AND I have to go home this weekend to visit my friend who is on spring break from McGill Universtiy in Canada. >.<

But, as for presentations today, I was nervous because I had a LEAD night to go to last night where we just watched a movie and I couldn’t really look at the powerpoint because I also had to work on my Physics lab.

P.S. I’m ready for spring break!!

LONG week

February 17th, 2011 by kris4thenguyen

Somehow this week just feels extremely LOOONNG! >.< And I’m glad that this week is almost over! I’m ready to go back home to get my pantsuit that has been altered for my band concert. >.>

I also have a Chemistry test today and then a LEAD meeting for a presentation on Monday. Let’s just hope that I don’t die first. >.<

Surprise Party

February 13th, 2011 by kris4thenguyen

So I was back in Austin for the weekend for a friend’s surprise party! And I’ll miss all my friends! Including the troublemakers and the Drama Queen! XD

A brief summary is that we played pool, did some prank calls with an impressionist, and watched random youtube videos! :3 Plus, I’m surprised that I retained some of my Spanish knowledge since Andres started to play Spanish music for us!

As for the Biology lab on Tuesday, I’m excited to start comparing all the calls! Although I’m a bit nervous. I hope I called everything correct! >.<

Finished!

February 10th, 2011 by kris4thenguyen

Annotations are finished and I’m ready for Tuesday! Although I’m glad that I pretty much don’t have homework tonight which is nice since I need to catch up on my sleep… >.<

BUT on the side note, I'm ready for this weekend! I have a surprise party to go to back in Austin and I'm looking forward to that! PLUS I get to see all my high school/kindergarten buddies again! (*^o^*)

At the moment, I'm looking over my Physics notes for tomorrow and listening to my friend rant about her favorite band! ^o^
Yay for multi-tasking! :3

Overlapping Genes

February 9th, 2011 by kris4thenguyen

EDIT: Thanks Esther! That’s what I thought! At the moment I’m working on Physics and listening to DBSK with Louisa in my room! X3

So I’m working and checking on my annotations and is it okay for the genes to overlap each other just like 2-3 bps?

And of course I’m glad for the day off today! It means that I can work on my annotations and physics! :3
