Describe the story of the scouting of the land of Canaan.
In Deut. 6, Moses says, “you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might” In verses 7-9, Moses tells the people to remember and teach this to their children and celebrate what the Lord has done. What does this mean for us today? What does this mean for the Israelites? What do it mean for us today? Where is the disconnect between the two situations?
Discuss the measures by which a man and a woman is considered clean and unclean.
As God calls Moses to approach Pharoah with the demand to let the Israelites go, Moses puts up a pretty good fight. Explain the reasons Moses gives for being unable to fulfill this call. As you answer this question, think about how we as ministers are like Moses. Write a modern day answer to God’s call in our lives.
