What’s God’s Old Testament Character?

Many people in our day propose that the God we read about in the Old Testament is one of great judgment, with wrath and fire, etc.. It is true that we see God’s judgment and punishment for the ancient Israelites, but we also see his redemption as well. What are specific examples of God’s character that you see in the books we have studied, regarding God’s wrath or redemption? With these specific instances in mind, what characteristic of God do you see as most prevalent?
