Everyone looked so relaxed and confident today – I guess we are really comfortable with presentations. It was really nice getting to know Benedict. I can’t wait for other people around the world to finally get to know Benedict, too! Go ~ Go~ Anna!! Show how great Benedict is(and how hard we worked

I still can’t believe that today was the last lecture day. It didn’t feel any different from other class days – I think it might be because we still have Friday and lab left that I do not feel sad yet. Also, the curiosity and the nervousness for the presentations we still have left to do for lab and biome group makes it feel like there might not be a closure! (in a good way ;p)
bye bye benedict »« saying goodbye to benedict…?
Today our group worked on putting together all of our functional annotations for Benedict. We had several genes of interest to choose from so I think our presentation will be interesting~ (can’t believe that today is second to last day in lab!!?)

I have finally finished my functional annotations for Benedict!!!! YAY!!!! I thought I would never finish this but the process became really easy after the first few. Now on to corn annotations. I am sure that this will go just as smoothly as Benedict…that is after I suffer and become frustrated with the first few.

The only frustration that phamerator has ever caused in the past has been due to the slow speed of the virtual box. Well…that all changed today. It seems that I just wasn’t meant to do any work in the lab today. The first computer wouldn’t start virtual box, the second computer didn’t have virtual box downloaded, the third and fourth refused to log me in. Finally, I stole Bayless’s computer but then caused her to go around the computer lab….(sorry Bayless >.<) I hope the computer will be more cooperative next time. Or else there are other ways to deal with computer problems……

I haven’t realized how much time has gone by until I read Meredith’s blog about how there are only 8 more days left. AHHHHHHH! This means that finals are closer and our time together is coming to an end. I feel like I might be a little (actually A LOT) depressed when the new semester begins and I don’t see all the familiar faces again every single day. I felt like I was back in Korea again with our biology class because in Korea the students stay together as one class until graduation. It sounds terrible but it was actually wonderful to become really bonded to each other by studying, plyaing, and going on vacation together. sigh…..

Anyone miss the excitement of seeing our plaques? I found this picture but…it kind of looks evil, doesn’t it? Nothing like our plaques that are going to do good things in this world~ lol

can’t believe it »« blog name
okay….so Victoria made me think about my blog name when she asked why I named my blog: Dreaming of Flying. My answer to her question: I had a reason before but I don’t remember anymore. So it kind of bugged me for awhile and I kept thinking about last semester and what inspired me to name my blog. And I finally remembered. Elipse was the name of the phage that I purified and tamed. It has been awhile since I worked with Eclipse and my head now only knows Benedict. But there you go, the reason for my blog name. It is dedicated to Elipse. I’m so sorry I forgot about you for awhile, Eclipse!!!!

Has anyone asked this question after today’s exam like me? Thankful for dia del oso tomorrow? Wondering why you are torturing yourself by studying biology? Well……it might be helpful in some ways…….but only a little bit
